Had a beautiful room and the house is very nice. Plenty of character and the food didn’t disappoint. Whiskey selection at the bar was pretty good too. Outdoor area in the courtyard is also a nice place to be. Been to better hotels in the chain but also worse. If you like your hotels and dining experiences to have a little more character than most you will like this place I am sure.
The rooms are clean and tidy. The bed comfortable. The shower didnt work beyond a dribble (possibly because i was on the top floor). The motel is situated on a busy road so there is a fair bit of traffic noise in the front rooms. The service was fine, very helpful to any enquiry about the area etc.

Went to stay at the Mercure Wessex Hotel. All the staff that I met were all so friendly and helpful. The hotel is right next door to the Cathedral, but unfortunately I could not see it as the trees were blocking the view. You can however see the Cathedral from the restaurant and bar. All the staff there are friendly and helpful. Special mention should be made for Esther and Heralds in the bar and Natasha on reception. Message to management look after them they are good. The only downers for my stay was that the TV did not have any radio channels and the room did not have a room safe The hotel is a modern hotel, but as it is low riseit does not spoil the architecture of the city. The room I had was nice and spacious. Will definitely be staying there again.
A comfortable hotel with huge bed. A very central position and under cover car parking at £12 a night. Our room had views across the cathedral close. Staff were friendly and responded quickly to requests. The restaurant lacked atmosphere but waiting staff very attentive. Not sure why I had to use a credit card for payment when I would have preferred to use cash or a debit card.

Wait staff was not very cheerful and had a massive argument at breakfast in the back room. The house and view are lovely and the location is great. Kind of disappointed to see boxed cereal and juice at the breakfast for the cost of the room, I would have expected fresh juice and more local items.
Delightful guesthouse, friendly staff, and the first time I've ever had a room with two bathrooms. Very convenient for Winchester sightseeing. Highly recommended.

The Green Man is one of the most relaxing and quirky pubs in Winchester with an extensive range of quality food, wines and spirits. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly and will always find the time to go the extra mile. The food menu changes regularly and whenever we have eaten here we've left satisfied. The only negative is that it isn't a cheap night out but you do get what you pay for so I can't complain too much! Part of the independantly run 'Little Pub Group', there are a variety of incentives to visit their other local venues that all boast different characters but the same core quality of experience.
Had our wedding breakfast here. Fantastic food, service and general organisation from really helpful and friendly staff.

A quaint pub from another time. The Wykeham Arms has a beautiful historic interior styling with knick-knacks from throughout it's history adorning the walls. It has a good selection of rooms to stay in if you're visiting Winchester for a few days (or if you've had one too many at one of their special event nights!). The food is of a good standard with a varied seasonal menu and the service on the whole is on point. Their roast dinner or fish & chips are amazing.
My wife and I called in for a drink on our wedding anniversary as this was where friends and family gathered for a meal the evening before our wedding in 1981! The pub is "wallpapered" with memorabilia of a historic and political nature. I would love to have the time to look at it all. There are at least four rooms where you can eat plus a garden. The staff are friendly and courteous.

The Royal Oak is a great pub and has been for 1000+ years (or something like that!) The staff are super-friendly and the drink prices are some of the cheapest in town. There are great deals on most of the day such as 3 for £6 Tequila or 2 for 1 cocktails. The food portions are large and the food has always been well cooked and quickly produced when we've eaten here. The main problem we had was watching the England game as the satellite connection was terrible so missed most of it!
Modern/Classic mingle, wooden layout. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Good selection of ales, lagers, wines and spirits. Outside seating with heated and sheltered areas. Ideally located at the top of town. Good food and some great deals on. Greene King prices. Clean and quite well laid out. Can get busy sometimes and makes it difficult to navigate around.

Excellent service from Mulberry Cottages and Belinda at Hollies House in Chichester. Mulberry Cottages staff were helpful, efficient and informative on the phone when booking and the information provided to us about our break was comprehensive and useful. Hollies House was simply stunning. Beautiful, well decorated and equipped rooms, comfy beds, thick curtains, stunning garden and great location. The house has lots of toys and equipment for children, all thoughtfully stashed away in accessible cupboards. We had a great time at Hollies House and would recommend it to anyone considering a family break in West Sussex.

I stayed in this lovely house for five days and found it very convenient for everything. It is so close to shops and restaurants and in a very quiet location. The house is extremely well equipped and comfortable. The only drawback for me was that I could only use the parking permit (which is supplied) to park on the street once so I had to pay for full days in the public car park (which is very close by), so it became rather expensive. I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it.
Honeysuckle Cottage is superbly located for the High Street and city centre. It is well equipped and accomodated our family of four (two young children) comfortably for a week. There is no parking on St Clement St. and, although narrow, there is little traffic which means that loading and unloading is not a problem. A visitor's parking permit is supplied for designated neighbouring streets. However, spaces are at a premium during busy periods. As to be expected for a central location, there is some late night noise from the pub and restaurant nearby. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return in the near future.

I have stayed in N number of hotels and apartments in UK but this one was best in terms of hospitality and the ambience.
We loved staying in this adorable cottage. The host was wonderful. The location perfect. I would definitely recommend this to a friend looking to visit Winchester.

The lady who runs the bed and breakfast maintains comfortable accommodation and the optional extra breakfast was delicious. I would recommend to anyone needing to stay in the Winchester area

We stayed here for two nights over the May Day bank holiday. Cathedral Cottage itself is perfectly located for everything Winchester City Centre has to offer, yet still so peaceful that I struggled to believe that I was waking up at the heart of the city. The double garden room is separate from the main house, very private and opens onto the garden. Richard was very welcoming, happy to spend time talking to us about the area and things that we might like to see/do, lovely breakfast on the terrace overlooking the Cathedral. Highly recommended.
Greatly enjoyed our stay. The owner and her husband were away but her brother, Richard, was left in charge and was a joy to communicate with to set up the reservation. It was an extremely good deal for the area—we’s initially Tried to book an AirBNB single room for a similar cost but were cancelled on because we were arriving too late. When I contacted Richard from Cathedral Cottage to see if he had a room, he assured us that checkin at any hour wouldn’t be an issue and he was right. He was so friendly even when our plane got in an hour later than we had already expected. The breakfast was lovely but the conversation, location, and personal touches were our favorites. It’s a charming English house and, like so many BNBs in the UK, it’s lived in—while not pristine and perfectly organized or decorated, it was cheery and authentic which we greatly enjoyed. The bathroom and tub on the main house where we stayed were amazing, not to mention the views! Absolutely will stay there again if we are ever back in Winchester!
If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!
